Former Manchester City and Arsenal midfielder Patrick Vieira has named who he thinks will win the Premier League title.
The Gunners currently sit at the top of the division, two points above second-place Manchester City following Saturday’s results.
Mikel Arteta’s side returned to winning ways with a 4-2 victory over Aston Villa, while City dropped points as they were held to a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest.
Arsenal’s win took them back to the top of the Premier League but a Manchester City victory at Nottingham Forest later in the day would have reverted the positions.
Pep Guardiola’s side dominated at the City Ground and took the lead on the stroke of half-time through a superb Bernardo Silva strike.
Manchester City wasted numerous chances to put the game to bed before Nottingham Forest substitute Chris Wood finished off a well-worked goal to earn the hosts a point.
Asked for his prediction on the Premier League title race, legendary Vieira, who has ties to both Arsenal and City, is extremely confident that the north London club will emerge victorious.
‘I think the Premier League title is Arsenal’s to lose, to be honest with you,’ the current Crystal Palace manager told William Hill.
‘I think Arsenal did really well against Aston Villa on Saturday, to bounce back with that 4-2 win at Villa Park. They are just in a really good place at the moment, with a lot of confidence.
‘But I still believe Manchester City will chase Arsenal until the very last day of the Premier League season. But I think it’s Arsenal’s title to lose.’
Vieira was a part of all three of Arsenal’s Premier League triumphs, skippering the ‘Invincibles’ side of 2003/04. He later wound down his career at the Etihad, retiring shortly after winning the FA Cup with City in 2011.
The French World Cup winner could well play a huge part in this season’s title race with his Palace side set to take on both his former clubs in the next month.
Crystal Palace host the Citizens on March 11 before travelling to the Gunners just eight days later.
