Arsenal and Manchester City are first and second in the Premier League table and even though half of the season is still left to be played, it feels like it’ll be a two-horse race for the title.
Mikel Arteta’s side have enjoyed a stellar start to the 2022/23 campaign, winning 16 of their first 19 Premier League fixtures.
The Gunners have lost just one match during the first half of the season, falling 3-1 to Manchester United back in September before going on a hugely impressive run that sees them comfortably at the top of the table.
Despite playing one less league match than second-placed Manchester City, the north Londoners find themselves five points clear of Pep Guardiola’s men, who they will do battle against at the Emirates Stadium in just two weeks’ time.
First up for Mikel Arteta and co. is a trip to Goodison Park, where they will take on 19th-place Everton in Sean Dyche’s first game as the Toffees’ manager while Manchester City take on Tottenham Hotspur.
Ahead of Saturday’s highly-anticipated clash, former United defender Rio Ferdinand, who knows a thing or two about winning the Premier League, has delivered his verdict on Arsenal’s chances of winning the title this term, claiming that the league leaders have more than enough in the locker to end their 19-year title drought come May.
Speaking about the championship race on his FIVE YouTube channel, Ferdinand said: “I think it’s a wrap. I’ve got to be honest, I do.
“No matter what results Arsenal get against Man City, I still think Arsenal have enough confidence, quality and calmness to take the title.”
Arsenal have answered every question put in front of them so far this season, so it’s definitely not beyond them to go all the way and win the Premier League. But, you can never write City off.
