Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the Premier League champions are expected to make a bid for Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson in the summer.
The final 24 hours of the January market is being dominated by the situation of Joao Cancelo, who has officially become a Bayern Munich player before the official deadline for English clubs arrives.
City may look for a replacement at left-back during the closing hours, however that seems a very distant possibility at this stage, and any other business is more likely to involve academy dealings and loan moves.
According to a report from The Sun, Manchester City will make a bid for Fulham left-back Antonee Robinson in the summer after being quoted £20 million for the USA international defender.
It has been reported that Manchester City had already enquired about Robinson before Joao Cancelo’s exit for Bayern Munich on an initial loan deal with an option to buy, but the Premier League champions plan to ‘step up their efforts’ at the end of the season.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
@sbmcfc1999: “Pointless just pay an extra 10 mil and get him now.”
@letmetalkk: “In the summer? 🤣 He’s not City quality. It’s understandable if we bid that much for him now given the left back crisis we have but if we are considering him in the summer as main LB target, then we are run even worse than what we think right now.”
@MCFCGabster: “Either get Robinson now or dont get him at all we can’t wait for the summer for an average lb.”
@danisimp14: “Summer ? I rather get Theo than him.”
@TopOff000: “Summer, we going for Theo. If it’s Robinson, it has to be now.”
@Achillaes: “Unbelievable, the players we are after this past 2 years are mostly a joke. Our transfer policy is of a low standard. Another Gomez in the making..”
@Bxrnardo2O: “If someone told me last summer that we would sell Cancelo for Antonee Robinson, I would sue him.”
