Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Kyle Walker is preparing to deal with Kylian Mbappe with high tech goggles, compression boots and a massage gun.
England take on France in the quarter-finals of the World Cup on Saturday. Mbappe is leading the Golden Boot race in Qatar with four goals at the tournament and has been widely tipped to cause England plenty of problems on the right-hand side of the pitch at the Al Bayt Stadium this weekend.
The 23-year-old has torn defences apart with his blistering pace at the World Cup and will be looking to make things difficult for England, who are hoping to reach the semi-finals once again with a famous victory over the defending champions.
The Manchester City defender said on Wednesday. “We know he’s a great player and that’s why he’s the focus of all questions. But let’s not forget (Olivier) Giroud, who has scored countless (goals), (Ousmane) Dembele, for me just as good on the other wing.”
Walker has come up against Mbappe for Manchester City in the Champions League and said the lesson was not to over-focus on the 23-year-old.
While 23-year-old Mbappe is undoubtedly at the peak of his powers, it is still not clear whether Walker, 32, has fully recovered from the groin surgery he had in October that at one point put his World Cup participation in doubt.
He was twice bamboozled by Senegal winger Ismaila Sarr last weekend, though more by trickery than pace, and has yet to show, or been forced to show, whether he is back at 100%.
According to inews Sport, Manchester City’s head of physiotherapy has revealed the secrets to the defender’s recovery between matches and the cutting edge tools with which the club sent the defender to the Qatar World Cup.
As per the report, Kyle Walker is preparing to deal with Kylian Mbappe with high tech goggles, compression boots and a massage gun.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“Yeah this stuff’s getting far too much coverage, Mbappe’s going to be at the top of his game and if Walker makes so much as one mistake he’ll get cooked everywhere. I don’t like this.”
