The England right-back has been a key part of a City side that has gone head-to-head with Liverpool for a number of seasons as both teams have pushed each other to record-breaking heights.
City and Liverpool have won the last five Premier League titles with Pep Guardiola’s four to Jurgen Klopp ‘s one, but Arsenal are now presenting themselves as the main challengers to the title this season.
Speaking on BT Sport’s Premier League storybook, Kyle Walker has been discussing Manchester City’s rivalry with Liverpool.
Walker was asked: “This is a pure footballing rivalry built on two great footballing sides. Do you think it’s the best the Premier League has seen the way you’re pushing each other every week?
Walker answered: “I think it is in terms of the standard of football. That’s no disrespect to the Arsenal team that was fantastic or the Manchester United team that was fantastic and won numerous leagues.
“I think the football and the standard of football and the standard of players coming to the league now is fantastic. It’s fantastic for the neutrals, do I wish we ran away with it every year? Of course I do, but I think it’s fantastic for the English Premier League.”
