Manchester City are reportedly interested in snapping up New York City youngster Christian McFarlane.
The teenager has emerged on the radar of the Premier League giants and is being tipped for a bright future in the game.
McFarlane, 15, was born in Essex but is also eligible to play for Jamaica so may have a big decision to make on what country to represent in the future.
He moved over to America at the age of three and grew up in Queens and Long Island before linking up with New York City’s academy.
The left-back has since risen up through the youth ranks of the MLS outfit and penned a homegrown contract last year. His current deal at the Yankee Stadium expires in the summer of 2026 meaning he still has a few years left to run.
According to reporter Alan Nixon on his Patreon, Manchester City are ready to sign the New York City FC left back.
The current champions could see him as a useful addition to their youth ranks with a view to him becoming a first-team player in the future.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“How about signing a left back for the first team whose a left back by trade. Not an attacking mid, not a defensive mid, not a right back played at left back.”
