‘Just let him go’, ‘tired of this every season’ – Man City Fans erupt after club scout confirms Star’s summer exit request

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a claim by Joan Patsy that Bernardo Silva told the club he wanted to leave in the summer, but “nobody came looking” for him.

Barcelona’s interest in Bernardo Silva has been well documented. His father admitted earlier this season that his son and Barcelona had held discussions over a possible move before it was mutually called off.

According to Manchester City’s South American scout Joan Patsy, Barcelona were unable to afford the Portuguese star.

“Bernardo Silva told us in the summer that he wanted to leave City, but nobody came looking for him. Barça? They had no money,” he told Què T’hi Jugues as relayed by Sport Witness.

The midfielder is expected to be the subject of enquiries again in the summer although Pep Guardiola is supposedly keen to retain the playmaker’s services.

Whether Silva will ever make the switch remains to be seen. But it’s not surprising that many Man City fans took to social media with a similar message: “Just let him go”.
