Phil Foden has praised Manchester City transfer target Jude Bellingham, insisting the midfielder can be one of the very best in the world.
The Borussia Dortmund man was in fine form during England’s rampant 3-0 display against Senegal in Qatar, having played a major part in the Three Lions’ first two goals. Bellingham’s fine midfield work enabled Jordan Henderson to open the scoring, before picking out Foden who played in Harry Kane to double the side’s advantage.
With France next to come in the quarter-finals, much has been made of Gareth Southgate’s team selection’s in the Middle East, although teenager Bellingham has established himself as one of the first names on the teamsheet.
And Foden was quick to praise the Manchester City’s prime midfield transfer target, insisting the former Birmingham City man is one of the best players he has had the pleasure of sharing the pitch with.
”I don’t want to big him up because he’s still young but mate, he’s one of the most gifted players I’ve ever seen,” Foden told ITV following England’s triumph.
”I don’t see any weaknesses in his game, I think he’s got everything and I’m sure he’s going to be the best midfielder in the world.”
These Foden’s comments shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
