Manchester City starlet Rico Lewis made Manchester City history as he netted on his senior debut during their clash against Sevilla.

The 17-year-old right-back slammed in an equaliser in the Champions League clash at the Etihad Stadium after latching onto Julian Alvarez’s through ball.

He celebrated passionately and had a beaming smile on his face as he was mobbed by teammates. Lewis shared a moment with fellow academy graduate Phil Foden and had his hand on his mouth in disbelief.

In doing so, Lewis becomes the City’s youngest ever goalscorer in the Champions League at the tender age of 17 years and 347 days old.

He also becomes the youngest ever player to score in his first Champions League start, previously beating Karim Benzema’s record when he was at Lyon.

Lewis, who has been with City since he was eight years old, has also emulated Jude Bellingham in becoming just the second English player to score in the Champions League proper before his 18th birthday.

Assist provider Alvarez then got a goal of his own when he rounded Sevilla goalkeeper Bono and fired in after collecting a sublime pass from Kevin De Bruyne.

City finished the group campaign with a win after summer signing Alvarez got another assist for Riyad Mahrez goal to complete the turnaround.
