Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola will continue at the Etihad beyond this season and has decided to start negotiations over a new deal.
Guardiola, who has guided City to four Premier League titles, four League Cups and the FA Cup, will be out of contract in 2023 and his future at the club remains unresolved.
The Spaniard has always said that he will stay at the Etihad as long as his players continue to believe in his methods and fight for the City cause.
Sport today writes that the coach will continue as the club’s manager and has decided to start negotiations for a new deal.
It’s claimed that along with Guardiola, Manchester City directors Txiki Begiristain and Ferran Soriano have taken the World Cup break to begin with the ‘basis’ for the contract and talk about the plans for the team.
The report claims it won’t take long for the parties to find a deal, since they both want the project to continue.
It’s written that the manager didn’t want the talks to affect the club’s routine, and that’s why they’re doing it right now when the squad is out in Qatar
Guardiola is said to be ‘delighted’ at Manchester City, since he took the club to a new level, and there’s ‘no hurry to leave’.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
