Manchester City will face an almighty battle to capture Jude Bellingham’s signature in 2023 over the likes of Chelsea, Liverpool and Real Madrid.

The 19-year-old has become one the hottest young prospects on the continent since moving to Dortmund in 2020 from Birmingham City. Since then, he has been a regular for both club and country.

The midfielder has played in 22 games so far this season in all competitions, scoring nine goals and registering another three assists in the process. Graham Potter could do with someone like him in his midfield.

Bellingham is all set to spark a major bidding war in the summer of 2023, with many top clubs especially Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid vying for his signature from Borussia Dortmund.

It is claimed that Borussia Dortmund will demand a price of around £130m million to sell Bellingham in the summer, which Real Madrid are unwilling to meet according to Spanish news outlet Sport.

Fabrizio Romano notes that none of the club are out of the race just yet with Real Madrid, in particular, yet to withdraw before the exact price-tag of the Englishman is revealed.

“I’ve seen the claim that Real Madrid are not ready to pay Borussia Dortmund’s asking price for Jude Bellingham, but here’s my understanding of the situation…” the renowned Italian journalist told Caught Offside.

“There’s no asking price yet for Bellingham. It will be decided in 2023. Real Madrid will be in the race alongside Liverpool, Manchester City and also Chelsea for Bellingham; it’s still not time to negotiate with Borussia Dortmund, this will happen in 2023.

“Contacts are just on the player’s side as of now, so I wouldn’t read too much into what the club’s demands could be just yet, as it will be decided later.”
