Manchester City Midfielder Kalvin Phillips has spoken about Erling Haaland and his admission will be to the delight Leeds United fans. As per BBC Radio 5 Live.

Phillips is looking forward to returning to Elland Road after the World Cup, while Manchester City teammate Erling Haaland has been constantly chatting about the Whites too.

The Norwegian has lit the Premier League up this season and in his short Manchester City career, he has made 12 appearances scoring 18 goals, and is on his way to breaking many records in his first season.

It was rumoured that Haaland, who is a diehard Citizen, is also a Leeds United fan. Erling Haaland’s father, Alf-Inge played over 80 times for the Whites and Erling was born in Leeds during that time.

Speaking to BBC Radio 5 Live’s Monday Night Club, Phillips confirmed the rumours in a recent interview.

He said, “Erling Haaland is a Leeds fan, yeah. Obviously, I’m looking forward to going back to Elland Road, it’ll be an unbelievable moment for me, it’ll be a strange moment when I walk into the away dressing room, the fans not singing my name.”

“But it will be one of the good moments in what’s been a tough start to the season so hopefully it’ll be a good reception. Obviously, I’m still a massive Leeds fan, I actually went to their game against Fulham.”

“And Erling, he’s a massive Leeds fan as well. We’ve actually talked about going to Elland Road together to watch a big game as well so Leeds fans need to watch out for us in the stand.”

Haaland and Kalvin Phillips will visit Elland Road as a player when Leeds host Manchester City on the 28th of December which will be the first game back after the World Cup break.
