Former Manchester United defender, Gary Neville has insisted that Manchester City will win the Premier League title this season.
The former Manchester United star was impressed by Arsenal’s performance in their 3-2 win against Liverpool at the Emirates Stadium in the Premier League on Sunday.
The victory took Mikel Arteta’s men back to the top of the table, one point ahead of City who had hammered Southampton 4-0 on Saturday.
However, the Sky Sports pundit believes that defending Premier League champions City will win the title ahead of Arsenal this season.
Neville said on his podcast: “I don’t think they (Arsenal) will win the league, let’s be really clear. I think Manchester City will this league by a street in the end. Arsenal are having to go at full pelt to stay with them.”
“There are good signs but the tough part of the season is still to come. There is a long way to go and this is definitely not the time to get carried away if you are an Arsenal fan.
“But there is definitely a spirit building and these fans can see a team and manager which is going places,” Neville said.
WHO WILL WIN THE TITLE?
In our opinion, we are the clear favourites to win the Premier League title this season, but Arsenal’s chances of becoming champions cannot be written off just yet.
Despite Liverpool’s poor start to the season, Jurgen Klopp’s side, who have been City’s main title rivals in recent years, remain the ultimate test.
City are away to Copenhagen in the Champions League on Monday, before travelling to Anfield, then have six days off before hosting Brighton in the Premier League.
