A football fan has simply had enough and has started a petition to ban Erling Haaland from playing Association Football because, and we quote, “it’s just not fair”.
The 22-year-old forward, who joined reigning Premier League champions Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund this summer after the club agreed to pay his £64 million release clause, penned a five-year deal at the Etihad worth a reported £375,000-a-week.
And the Norwegian phenomenon has already repaid some of that transfer fee with a quite staggering start to life in Manchester. In his first 14 games under Pep Guardiola, Haaland has netted 20 goals in total, including three consecutive home hat-tricks in the league.
English Premier League defenders have yet to find a way to stop Erling Haaland from scoring goals.
Some soccer fans, however, think they’ve found the answer – ban him from playing altogether.
“It’s just simply not fair,” user Ten Hag’s Reds! wrote on the Change.org page. “We can make a change. Now is the time for us people to act. This robot should not be allowed to carry on in our country.”
The Change.org petition was filed by none other than user ‘ Ten Hag ‘s Reds!’. I’m sure he’s approached this without any bias whatsoever.
Despite being created as a joke – one that did make us exhale through the nose, we’ll admit – dozens of people have actually signed it.
As it turns out, there have been multiple such memes flying around social media with several appearing as though there were official petitions filed through the government website.

For anyone that isn’t a blue or Norwegian, though, we get it; it has been genuinely frightening to see how incredible he has been already.
If he carries on like this, and doesn’t get injured, why couldn’t Erling Haaland go on to be one of the 🐐 pic.twitter.com/EKBvkMkyuc

In response to his blistering form, several petitions have started online to prohibit him from terrorizing opponents.
One petition is titled: “Get Erling Haaland banned from Association Football because it’s just not fair.”
Another petition, started by Shane Lee, is titled: “Remove Erling Haaland from the UK.”
“Erling Haaland is a serious problem,” reads its blurb. “He shows up out of the blue and consistently ruins the weekends of the hardworking people of this great nation. This issue must be dealt with in order to protect the mental health of millions in our society.
“To put it shortly, if things don’t change, it will only get worse. This guy is nine league goals away from equaling last season’s golden boot winner. This is disrespectful to the establishment.”
