‘And he fell for it?’, ‘Find it hard to believe’ – Man City Fans react as Bernardo Silva implicated in Kylian Mbappe PSG saga

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Kylian Mbappe ‘was promised’ three PSG signings that failed including Bernardo Silva.

The French striker’s future was arguably the biggest transfer story of last season – along with Erling Haaland – even though he eventually ended up staying put in Paris. 

Mbappe reportedly wants to leave Paris Saint-Germain in the January transfer window because the club did not fulfil promises that they made prior to him penning a new deal at the club.

According to Romain Molina, Kylian Mbappe was promised that PSG would sign Bernardo Silva from Manchester City during contract extension talks in the summer.

The versatile forward was also ‘promised’ to be reunited with Lewandowski to fill their No 9 vacancy before he joined Barcelona..

PSG were also keen to address their lack of strength in central defence and assured Mbappe that they would sign Skrinian, though their pursuit of the Slovakia international was unsuccessful due to Inter Milan snubbing their approach.

After it became clear that all three players would not be signing for the club, Mbappe then told PSG to sell him in August before the summer transfer window closed.

The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.
