Manchester City star Phil Foden has revealed the greatest player he’s ever seen is one of his own team-mates.
The 22-year-old was speaking as a global brand ambassador for TCL and talked about his ambitions for the future.
Foden has been blessed enough to play with some of the best players in Premier League history already during his short time in the Premier League, but who’s the best?
The England star has named Kevin De Bruyne as the best player he’s played with in his career. Speaking to Caught Offside, the midfielder had this to say on De Bruyne.
Phil Foden: “When I was watching football and growing up, I loved David Silva but seeing Kevin De Bruyne every day in training, the things he does! Unbelievable player; probably the best player I’ve ever, ever played with.”
David Silva was just one of the footballer’s Foden idolised as he grew up though; the England star used to watch the Three Lions as a kid, and hopes to do what the so-called golden generation of the 2000s could not.
“I used to like [David] Beckham, [Wayne] Rooney when I was watching England,” he said. “I thought we should have won something, that team was unbelievable.
“Just watching football on the TV, seeing big players play football and I just wanted to be like them. I used to go to the park to play every day wishing I could be one of them one day.”
