Harry Maguire is set to miss the derby clash with Manchester City due to injury, according to Manchester United head coach Erik ten Hag.
The centre-back has fallen out of favour under new Man United boss Erik ten Hag, but featured in both of England’s matches during the international break.
The central defender played both of England’s matches during the international break, playing 90 minutes against both Italy and Germany in the UEFA Nations League.
Despite playing the entirety of both matches, Maguire was said to have been struggling with a hamstring injury, leading Harry Kane to say ‘he played another five or 10 minutes on almost one leg’.
However powering through has seemingly come at a cost, with the 29-year-old now ruled out of the clash with rivals Manchester City.
Speaking to the club’s official website, Ten Hag said: “Harry Maguire is injured and I think, for the rest, we have some doubts, with Anthony Martial, but he was training all week with the group.
The news was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from Manchester City supporters.
