‘It’s understandable’, ‘why didn’t we sell him permanently?’ – Man City fans react as Issa Kabore makes transfer plans clear

Manchester City youngster Issa Kabore has admitted he would love to stay at Marseille after his loan runs out in June.

The Burkina Faso defender had a lot of interest this summer from various clubs, including clubs in the Premier League.

Southampton and Nottingham Forest had an interest in Kabore, who spent last season on loan with Troyes in the French league.

It seems, though, the youngster is more than happy with the situation so far and would love to make his move from Manchester City a permanent one if he can.

“There were many teams who wanted me and with whom I spoke,” he told Foot Mercato.

“When I heard that there was OM, I said to my agent that I had to calm down and that I had to wait for OM.

“When my agent called me, I was with my family, in my room. I called my wife to tell her that I didn’t believe it, that it was Marseille who wanted me. It was incredible. We were really happy.

“My future, I want it to be OM. I would like to stay here. I want to leave my mark here. I don’t think it will be difficult, because I already love this club and frankly, I don’t think it will be difficult.”

These Issa Kaboré’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“Love that attitude. I get that he’d rather stay in a country where he speaks the language at a club with committed fans, I just hope he gets us a decent price.”

“He has every right to say this, I won’t want to end up in the team as a bench players with little to no chance of ever starting, he has problem never been to the Carrington. So it’s understandable. Best of luck to him.”

“People are actually getting annoyed by him saying this? The guy probably hasn’t even stepped foot in the CFA and you expect him to show loyalty or something?”

“Wow, that’s a shame, Kabore has the potential to be Walker’s future replacement. If you can’t be patient and want to play in the French league, that’s fine. Immediate cash.”
