Fabrizio Romano was left amazed by Erling Haaland’s performance for Manchester City on Tuesday night in the UEFA Champions League, with the striker bagging a brace against Sevilla.
Pep Guardiola’s side got off to the perfect start in Group G last night as they swept Sevilla to one side with a 4-0 victory. Goals from Phil Foden, Ruben Dias and two from Haaland saw City comfortably beat their Spanish opposition.
The Blues are top of their group on goal difference after Borussia Dortmund beat FC Copenhagen 3-0 in their opening match.
Haaland’s arrival this summer was seen by many as potentially the final piece of the jigsaw in City’s attempt to win the Champions League.
Taking to Twitter, the Italian transfer guru lauded the 22-year-old attacker after Haaland added to his ever-growing goal tally for City, with the forward now on 12 goals in all competitions for Pep Guardiola’s side despite playing just seven games for the reigning Premier League champions.

Erling Haaland. Mamma mia.

Indeed, Haaland’s form in the Champions League is frightening, to say the least, and Romano is right to be left speechless by the striker’s latest display in Europe for Manchester City.
The Norwegian striker already has 25 goals in Europe’s premier competition, more than the likes of Frank Lampard and Harry Kane, and there’s a good case to be made that the striker could one day become the all-time goalscorer in the Champions League, a record currently held by Cristiano Ronaldo with 140 goals.
