Arsenal hero Gabriel Jesus has rebuffed any suggestion he was “unhappy at Manchester City” after getting his Emirates career up and running on his home debut against Leicester.
The ex Man City striker, who moved to Arsenal this summer, scored twice in the first half, and assisted two more, as the Gunners swept the Foxes aside for an impressive 4-2 win at the Emirates to make it two wins from two for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Jesus spoke to the media after the match and rejected claims that he was unhappy at Manchester City – where he played a bit-part role – before switching to Arsenal for £45m, but admitted that was ‘so happy’ to be in north London.
Following the game he told Premier League Productions: ‘I am so happy because we played so good against a tough opponent. I work all day every day to score goals.
‘I was not unhappy at Manchester City, I just wanted to play and the club understood.’
These Gabriel Jesus’ comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“He is right, I mean he didn’t got that much play time that he should’ve. When he didn’t scored he was in the bench next game while Sterling & Grealish both walked there.”

“That’s why we love you Gabby because we knew you deserved the chance and I hope you continue to show the world how amazing you are.”

“I always wanted Gabby to have his full season as the Number 9. He deserved that chance after supporting Kun for a long time..”

“Sucks that he left but I’m so happy he’s the main man at Arsenal under Arteta. Wish nothing but the best for Gabi.”
