Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the Premier League champions are not currently looking to sign RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol.
Gvardiol has been on the wanted lists of several clubs this summer but Leipzig have so far resisted selling him.
The 20-year-old enjoyed an impressive first season with the German club in 2021-22, making 45 appearances across all competitions as well as winning the DFB-Pokal.
Gvardiol has since attracted interest from the Premier League, with Man City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur all believed to be keeping tabs on the left-footed defender.
Recent reports claims Manchester City are now pushing to take him to the Etihad as part of a concerted effort to bring in a top-class centre-back.
German newspaper Bild on Tuesday reported that City had made a £66 million bid for Gvardiol, but this is thought to be incorrect.
According to the latest information from the Daily Mail, Manchester City are not currently looking to sign the highly-rated RB Leipzig defender.
They states that Leipzig are keen to hang on to the fullback and want him to commit to a new contract.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“Yeah no point. 80m too much. The only way we would have signed him is if ake left for Chelsea which can still happen. But what’s the point paying double that amount for 4th choice cb.”
