Real Madrid are reportedly planning to extensively scout Erling Haaland at Manchester City over the next couple of years as they wish to sign him in the future.
Haaland only joined Manchester City at the beginning of the current transfer window after snubbing the interest of a host of top clubs, including the likes of Real Madrid and Barcelona.
The 22-year-old has made a fine start to life in England, scoring a double on his Premier League debut against West Ham United this past weekend.
Real Madrid may have missed out on his signing this summer, but it seems they are certainly not giving up their pursuit of the Norwegian international.
However, according to Defensa Central, Real Madrid have sketched out a scouting mission for Erling Haaland as they see the Norwegian international as the ideal replacement for ace goalscorer Karim Benzema.
It is believed that Haaland has a release clause worth €200 million which will come into effect in 2024 and further drop to €175 million in 2025. And Real Madrid are planning to strike when the clause becomes active and sign the 22-year-old centre-forward.
The likelihood of Manchester City allowing Haaland to leave in the near future seems slim as signing him won’t be easy, and it certainly won’t be cheap.
