Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola showered praise on one of his players after a stellar performance in a 5-1 victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers on Saturday.
“Undoubtedly, Erling Haaland stood out as the best player for City in the match against Wolves,” said Guardiola during his press conference. “Haaland has successfully recovered his top form following a period of injury.”
Guardiola praised Haaland’s performance, especially highlighting his second and last goals in the match. He expressed, “I’m happy for his performance and for his exceptional goals, in the penalty as well because sometimes they are not easy. But the second and the fourth were unbelievable. I’m really pleased for him.”
Haaland is in contention for another Golden Boot after his four-goal display on Saturday, bringing his total to 25 goals this season. He currently leads the goal-scoring charts ahead of Cole Palmer and Alexander Isak.
Despite not matching his goal-scoring achievements from the previous season, Haaland has managed to score 36 goals and provide 6 assists in 39 matches for Manchester City in all competitions this season.
