Barça coach Xavi has told the club he wants the 27-year-old Portugual international and Speaking at the unveiling of former Sevilla defender Kounde, Laporta was asked about Bernardo and responded: “Bernardo Silva? First we have to register the players we have signed and that’s what we’re working on.

“Also resolve the futures of the players not in the manager’s plans. First we have to do that. After, we will see what we can do. The coach wants more reinforcements.”

“There is absolutely no way we will let him go now. Not a chance. It would be suicide. What football agent is genuinely turning around to their player and recommending Barcelona as a good option now? Madness.”

“”The first thing is to register our signings”.. How are they allowed to sign players that they aren’t sure up front about registering? How can the head of a football club in a highly regulated system like UEFA say this openly and not face any regulatory scrutiny? None. WTF”
