Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has joke about Bernardo Silva rumours ahead of Wednesday’s charity friendly with Barcelona at Camp Nou.
The 28-year-old has been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks, despite the Catalan giants’ financial woes.
Even though we are just thirteen days away from the end of the ongoing summer transfer window, Barcelona have not given up their hopes of signing Bernardo Silva.
Barcelona return to action against Real Sociedad on Sunday night, coming off a slow start after a goalless stalemate against Rayo Vallecano to open their accounts. Shortly after that, though, they will host Manchester City at the Camp Nou for a charity match.
The game, set to be played in honour of former Barcelona goalkeeper Juan Carlos Unzue, who was diagnosed with ALS in 2020. All proceeds from the clash will be donated to ALS charities.
Speaking ahead of Wednesday’s charity friendly with Barcelona at Camp Nou, which will raise money for research into treating ALS (amyotrophic lateral sclerosis), Pep Guardiola joked to Catalan Radio that Barca’s fans will get to see Silva play – but should get used to the fact that he will be in a City shirt.
“You’ll [Barcelona] will see him play on Wednesday, won’t you? But what is certain is that he will play for us, Manchester City,” he said.
These Guardiola’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
