Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims James McAtee passed a medical at Sheffield United on Tuesday ahead of a loan move.

The 19-year-old is highly regarded by the Etihad club and was recently rewarded with a new three-year contract for his efforts at the club.

He was a star performer for City’s U23s and looked a cut above the rest at youth level. He managed 18 goals and seven assists in 23 Premier League 2 games while also impressing in the UEFA Youth League, though he only made six senior appearances.

His limited first-team game time has led to speculation over a possible loan exit, with a number of clubs interested in signing the youngster.

Pep Guardiola’s side were unsure if they wanted to let the attacking midfielder go this window with the likelihood being he would play the early rounds of the League Cup and the FA Cup.

However it was reported last week that the Premier League Champions have given James McAtee the green light to go out on loan this season but want their player to be guaranteed game time at his loan club.

Multiple Premier League and Championship clubs have expressed an interest in signing the midfielder, but it’s Sheffield United who have won the race for the Man City star.

According to the latest information from Football Insider, James McAtee passed a medical at Sheffield United on Tuesday ahead of a loan move from Manchester City.

Sheffield United are putting the finishing touches on a move and an announcement is expected in the next 24 hours.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
