Manchester City have played down reports of agreeing on a fee to sell Bernardo Silva to Barcelona this summer.
The Portugal international has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona this summer. However, given the situation surrounding the registration of new players as well as the reluctance of Frenkie de Jong to leave, a move had looked difficult.
The Portuguese is believed to be pushing for the move and Pep Guardiola admitted last week that he does not know whether the midfielder will be at the Etihad beyond the end of the window.
Reports in Spain on Tuesday suggested that Barcelona had agreed a fee with City in the region of €50-55m, however, according to Manchester Evening News, Pep Guardiola’s side have not agreed a fee with Barcelona for Bernardo Silva and no offer has been received for the player.
It’s state that City don’t want to sell him, and if they did, they would require a significant transfer fee and would also need a replacement before the September 1 transfer deadline.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
