Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club could be open to a player swap involving Ilkay Gundogan and Brazil international Arthur.
The Germany international, who turns 32 in October, has now entered the final 12 months of his contract at the Etihad Stadium and his long-term future at the club is believed to be uncertain.
Gundogan’s playing time could decrease this season following the arrival of Kalvin Phillips, and with his contract set to expire next summer, City are looking to avoid a situation where the Germany international leaves on a free transfer.
According to Calciomercato, via the HITC, the Premier League champions are considering a deal with Juventus that would result in Gundogan and Arthur swapping clubs.
The report claims Juventus will pay £25million for Gundogan, while City are said to be willing to stump up £34million for Arthur.
Arsenal have been linked with Arthur throughout the summer, but City could be set to beat the Gunners to Arthur’s signature.
The report shared on Twitter gathered a number of replies from a wide range of Man City supporters.

“Gundo has a long-term back injury which is only going to limit him more in future. We swap him for a 25-year old who is good and will be great once Pep finishes with him and I’m happy..”

“Arthur has potential and Gündogan is going to leave anyway, but it’s crazy to pursue him now. Frenkie De Jong much better.”

“Might as well put 200M on Bellingham, what are we going to do with Arthur?.”
