Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Bernardo Silva to Barcelona is just an idea linked to Frenkie De Jong’s future.
The Portuguese midfielder is a key target for Barcelona, with manager Xavi said to be ‘obsessed’ with the 27-year-old.
Despite Pep Guardiola reiterating that the Citizens wish to keep hold of the former SL Benfica and AS Monaco midfielder, the speculations refuse to go away.
The Portuguese midfielder is still being strongly linked with a switch to Camp Nou, and a recent report even claimed that the Portugal international had told his agent to open talks over a move to Xavi’s side.
So far Barcelona have spent big to try and close the gap to their rivals Real Madrid next season by signing Raphinha and Robert Lewandowksi.
They have also brought in Andreas Christensen and Frank Kessie on frees however Xavi is not done there. Journalist Helena Condis reported recently that Silva is the great desire and they will not throw the towel in due to the fact they believe Frenkie De Jong will change his mind.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via City Xtra, to date, Barcelona and Bernardo Silva is not even a negotiation with Man City, just an idea linked to Frenkie De Jong’s future.
As per the ever reliable journalist, Pep Guardiola would like to keep Bernardo in Manchester.
