Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Arsenal have reached an agreement in their pursuit of left-back Oleksandr Zinchenko this summer.

The north London side are keen to strengthen their defensive options this summer with the signing of a left-back among the top priorities.

The Athletic reported on Thursday that Arsenal are focusing on securing a deal for Zinchenko and are in talks with City to sign him, and the current Premier League champions are open to selling if their valuation is met.

Reports on Friday claimed Oleksandr Zinchenko is set to complete £35m move to Arsenal from Man City, with a deal to be agreed in the coming days.

All seem to be pointing in the right direction, with the Gunners seemingly closing in on Zinchenko.

Now transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has provided a further update on the deal with negotiations progressing at a rapid rate.

Taking to Twitter, the journalist wrote: “Arsenal and Manchester City have now reached verbal agreement in principle for Oleksandr Zinchenko, fee around £30m. Personal terms are still discussed. Salary and length of contract, in negotiation – key step to complete the agreement.”

Man City fans took to Twitter to react to Romano’s update regarding the 25-year-old. Here are some of their reactions:

“He’s like a personal piece at Man City. We’re all sad to see him go. Very passionate and resourceful player. Always gave his best whenever on the pitch. Good luck Ukrani”
