Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola could swoop for Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix.
There has recently been speculation surrounding the Portuguese, with Bayern Munich and Tottenham Hotspur reportedly said to be interested in the Athletico Madrid star.
City have been quick out of the blocks this summer with the double signing of Haaland and Phillips, building on the January capture of Julian Alvarez, who also arrives at the club later this month.
Gabriel Jesus was officially announced as an Arsenal player on Monday in a £45m transfer, while, Manchester City are set to part with English winger Raheem Sterling for a fee of around £45million.
Losing those two players – albeit for significant fees – cuts out a lot of experience in Pep Guardiola’s forward line, and also reduces the numbers in a squad that is not as big as their rivals’ to start with.
While it remains to be seen if the club will go back into the transfer market to add another body to the squad, according to sources cited by MSN, City boss Guardiola could swoop for Atletico Madrid attacker Joao Felix.
The report states that the Portugal star is one of world football’s brightest talents and could be tempted by a move to the Premier League.
Atleti paid a whopping €126m to Benfica for the 22-year-old forward back in 2019, so they’d want to recoup most, if not all of that money, if they do agree to sell Félix.
The report was shared on Twitter and it attracted plenty of attention from Manchester City supporters.
