Manchester City’s parent company, the City Football Group, is considering a move for Liverpool and Uruguay winger Luciano Rodriguez, who is currently on Girona’s radar. This is part of a trend of South American players being linked with Girona and the City Football Group, with Manchester City already having talented players on loan at the La Liga club such as Savio and Yan Couto.
Savio has impressed during his loan spell at Girona from ESTAC Troyes, leading to interest from Manchester City, who have reportedly agreed to sign the Brazilian winger in the summer transfer window. With Girona being seen as an attractive destination for top-level football within the City Football Group, they are now looking to add Rodriguez from Liverpool Montevideo to their ranks.
The 20-year-old winger has also attracted interest from Dutch side Feyenoord and Brazilian giants Palmeiras, but City Football Group seems to have an advantage due to Rodriguez’s representative having strong links with both Manchester City and Girona’s parent company. Rodriguez himself has confirmed the interest from Manchester City and the City Football Group, and it remains to be seen whether a move will materialize in the upcoming transfer window.
