‘Great news’ – Many fans react as Man City player set to sign £200k-per-week deal

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Phil Foden is now close to signing a new long-term contract.

The England international has not had a contract extension at the Etihad Stadium since December 2018, and those terms are due to expire in the summer of 2024.

The 21-year-old is understood to have verbally agreed to a new contract in the autumn, but he is yet to officially commit his future to the Premier League champions.

The City academy graduate earns £65,000 a week on his current deal, but he is set to put pen to paper on a new contract which would result in a significant pay increase.

According to Graeme Bailey via 90mins, Phil Foden is now close to signing a new long-term contract at Manchester City, with the deal running until at least 2027.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
