Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Chelsea have now reached a total agreement with the club to sign Raheem Sterling.
Following the signings of Julian Alvarez and Erling Braut Haaland, Sterling has been linked with a move away from City due to a concern over playing time.
Thomas Tuchel’s side have been chasing Sterling’s signature throughout the summer, with City prepared to sell the 27-year-old instead of losing him on a free transfer next year.
According to The Athletic, Chelsea and Manchester City have reached an agreement on a £50m deal for the England international.
With a fee agreed between the two clubs, Sterling is set to put pen to paper on a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge with an option of an additional year.
Chelsea are hoping to complete the transfer before they leave for their pre-season tour of the United States, but Sterling still needs to complete a medical before his signing can be announced.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“Kinda sad to see Sterling go. He’s been a absolutely class for us over the last 4-5 years, so many important goals, the one vs southampton 2017/18 is the stand out one for me. And only Messi has more goal contributions under Pep, that’s some stat. City Legend for me..”

“Doesn’t matter. 40 was a steal for us anything more is a bonus. Atleast he’s gone.”
