Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays another update on Raheem Sterling potential move to Chelsea.

The 27-year-old forward has just one year remaining on his City contract. He was not always a regular starter in the Premier League under Pep Guardiola last season and is set for a new adventure.

Chelsea are in the market for goalscorers following Romelu Lukaku’s loan return to Inter Milan. Sterling has proven at City he can be a serious threat in that regard from out wide.

Talks progressed over the weekend between the two clubs and although a deal is not yet finalised, it is understood to be close.

The Premier League champions are reported to be looking for around £50m for the England star, which they believe is his true market value after selling Jesus to Arsenal for £45m.

According to latest information from Sky Sports News, Chelsea and Man City are now in “advanced and constructive” talks over a deal for Raheem Sterling. An agreement between the clubs over a fee is “close”.

The report claims that any deal between Chelsea and Manchester City would be dependent on Raheem Sterling agreeing personal terms, and he would expect to outdo the salary he is currently on at Man City.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“So it was always about the money. He just wants more money but doesn’t want to do more for the team. Hasn’t improved for last 3 years. Been on a decline. Good time to sell and bring in a player that’ll get better over time not worse..”
