Plenty of Manchester City fans have taken to Twitter to react to comments made by Bernardo Silva on Thursday when asked about his Etihad future.
Despite Pep Guardiola reiterating that the Citizens wish to keep hold of the former SL Benfica and AS Monaco midfielder, the speculations refuse to go away.
The Portuguese midfielder is still being strongly linked with a switch to Camp Nou, and a recent report even claimed that the Portugal international had told his agent to open talks over a move to Xavi’s side.
Speaking to Football Daily after the game, Bernardo Silva was questioned about his Manchester City future. Reports have linked him to Barcelona, and even PSG in a swap deal with Neymar. Silva had this to say about his future at the club.
“For as long as I play for Man City, I will give always my best. My relationship with the club, with the fans, with my teammates is fantastic and I will always respect that.”

“Am I the only one that doesn’t find anything wrong with this? Thought his comments were on point and honest. He’s a professional, his contract is until 2025, and he hasn’t indicated any blatant desire to leave. He’s not going anywhere this summer at least.”

“I dont think Bernardo wanting to leave will surprise anyone, but someone needs to come with an offer. He’s in the unfortunate situation that he’s too good for most clubs to afford him.”

“Bernardo is planning to be here for the upcoming season that’s for sure, but in future he does not see himself retiring in Manchester, make peace with it, we owe him that. Appreciate that he’s not going anywhere this season.”

“From his response, if De Jong leaves, Barca are most likely getting him this summer. Losing Jesus, Bernardo, Fernandinho & Zinchenko at the same time will be catastrophic. No way City retain the EPL title with that. The defensive hard work of Jesus & Bernardo in big games!.”
