Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Oleksandr Zinchenko is expected to complete a move to Arsenal.
Arsenal were linked with the 25-year-old earlier in the window. Interest had gone quiet though as Arteta pursued Lisandro Martinez.
Martinez is reportedly set to join Manchester United instead so Manchester City star Zinchenko is back on the agenda for the Gunners.
The Ukraine international has previously been resistant to leaving the Etihad Stadium but is likely to bring a close to his six-year stay. He could follow Gabriel Jesus to the Emirates Stadium from the Etihad Stadium and be reunited with Mikel Arteta this summer.
The Athletic reported on Thursday that Arsenal are focusing on securing a deal for Zinchenko and are in talks with City to sign him, and the current Premier League champions are open to selling if their valuation is met.
According to the latest information from Jack Gaughan for Daily Mail, Oleksandr Zinchenko set to complete £35m move to Arsenal from Man City, with a deal to be agreed in the coming days.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta personally wants the 25-year-old at the Emirates Stadium, according to the report, which has added that there is hope that the two clubs will come to an agreement in the coming days.
Pep Guardiola will not stand in Zinchenko’s way should he wish to leave the Etihad Stadium in search of regular game time after making just 15 appearances as City won the Premier League last season.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
“Gutting. Gonna be hard to replace such a versatile and generally well loved part of the team, need to go all in for Cucurella now or we could end up really short on full backs.”

“Actually a bit gutted about this. Always gives 100% and never complains.”

“Watch last day match City vs Aston Villa, and see how a substitute Zinny changed the game for City. He can be a back up . He loves City, don’t sell him.”

“I really love and appreciate Zinchenko, so I’m so sad. But, that Zinchenko deal is closing in Arsenal means Cucurella to City will also happen soon?”

“We’re going to regret this, no guarantee Brighton would even sell Cucurella.”

“Why are we selling him? It’s the same with Ake, although thankfully his transfer has collapsed. Why are we selling players in the areas that have proven to give us trouble throughout a season? Season after season the left back position screws us. Keep Zinny… Please..”

“Even with Cucurella, selling Zinna is still an L. We can’t go into the Season with no depth in LB. We need depth, not covers…”

“Won’t hold anything against Zinch..he has been patient, never sulked, gives his all whenever he gets the chance. He deserves more game time, only regret is to never have seen him given the chance at midfield at City. Arsenal are getting a bargain in Zinchenko.”
