‘He’s worth double’ – Many fans react to Man City’s price tag for Bernardo Silva

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are set to demand £80m for midfielder Bernardo Silva.

Silva was one of Manchester City’s key players last season, helping guide them to the Premier League title, and subsequently being named in the PFA Premier League Team of the Year.

The Portuguese star has been linked with a move to Barcelona in recent weeks, and Manchester City have now confirmed their asking price.

According to the Mirror, Man City will be demanding £80m for Bernardo Silva in an attempt to stave off the interest of Barcelona.

The report claims that Frenkie De Jong is close to joining Manchester United for around £70m, but their rivals City will be wanting more than that for Silva.

It is believed Barca will aim to use the funds generated by the potential sale of Frenkie de Jong, who has been heavily linked with Manchester United, to persuade City to part with Silva.

City are keen to extend Silva’s current deal, which expires in three years, but this may become a difficult task with the midfielder considering a move in the past.

The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“If Barça wants Bernardo our board should ask first to pay €65m they owes us for Ferran. They literally want to buy 2 players for +€165m from Man City and they want to pay everything until 2030.”
