Manchester City star Ilkay Gundogan has been linked with a move to Jose Mourinho’s Roma this summer transfer window, according to reports in Italy.
Since joining Manchester City from Borussia Dortmund, Ilkay Gundogan has been a constant feature in the Manchester City team and just last season, he was the teams leading goalscorer in the Premier League.
Gundogan is an important part of Pep Guardiola’s team, keeping the team ticking with his passing ability and popping up with key goals when needed.
Despite his lack of minutes in the latter stages of last season, Gundogan still managed to feature 42 times for City across all competitions, scoring 10 goals and registering six assists, including a dramatic late brace on the final day of the Premier League campaign to guide City to the title.
The 31-year-old’s future has recently been questioned, with one report claiming that the Citizens have told him to find a new club this summer.
Gundogan has since been linked with the likes of Barcelona and Arsenal but there could yet be new competition for his transfer.
According to Leggo, Jose Mourinho’s Roma are now dreaming of signing Gundogan – who was recently spotted in the Italian capital.
The publication states that the star was recently seen in the Italian capital throughout pre-season. He reportedly earns around £110,000-per-week and is looking to move on in the not too distant future.
The German midfielder enters the final 12 months of his contract with the Premier League champions in the coming weeks, and despite talks recently taking place, no agreement has yet been made.
