‘Signing of the season!’, ‘Better signing than Haaland’ – Many Fans reacts as Man City Make Decision on the Future of First-Team Goalkeeper Ahead of 2022/23 Season

Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims back-up goalkeeper Scott Carson is likely to renew his deal and remain at the Etihad Stadium next season.

Carson, 36, signed for City in a surprise loan deal at the start of the 2019/20 campaign, as third-choice keeper behind Brazilian Ederson and former Barcelona shot stopper Claudio Bravo.

When Bravo left the club and Zack Steffan promoted to second-choice, Carson was brought in once again the following summer for another loan spell.

Currently, the loan deal – which was made permanent last year – expires at the end of next month, but It looks like Man City have stolen a march on all other premier league teams again and will renew Scott Carson’s contract for a further 12 months.

According to BBC journalist Mike Minay, Scott Carson is increasingly likely to renew his contract and remain at the Etihad Stadium next season.

Despite making 522 senior appearances across a stellar career, the veteran has seemingly taken a backseat and decided to help out City behind the scenes.

He shares a notably close bond with the number one choice, Ederson, but his friendship with the rest of the squad cannot go understated.

In reaction to the news shared on Twitter by City Xtra, Many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.
