Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are willing to offload Riyad Mahrez and a number of key players this summer.
The 31-year-old has been one of the most enigmatic attackers in the Premier League over the past half a dozen years. He has been in ‘sparkling’ form this season and is their leading goalscorer with 23 goals in 43 matches in all competitions.
However, with less than 18 months left on the Algerian’s existing deal at the Etihad Stadium, reports have claimed that a number of elite European clubs are monitoring Mahrez’s contract situation in Manchester ahead of a potential departure in the summer.
According to Miguel Delaney Writing in his weekly Reading The Game column for The Independent, Man City are willing to offload a number of players this summer, and Riyad Mahrez and Raheem Sterling are players who they would listen to offers for.
Miguel Delaney went ahead to state that in the case of Sterling, if he were to move, he would prefer a switch to Spain.
In reaction to the reports shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

“I don’t understand Mahrez with statistics this year is the best in mancity (UCL and EPL) even though he benched half of the EPL games. He is the best player this year in Europe as a right-winger, who could replace him? I think a player like Halland needs Mahrez more than KDB..”

“My expert take is that we aren’t selling all our wingers in the same summer.”

“No way Mahrez is on the sell list? H’es been one of our best players for the past 3 years now where is the actual respect for this guy..”

“Mahrez is our best winger, our only forward who can go both ways, and do all 3 of pass, dribble and score..”

“Mahrez is the most underrated player at this club by the club themselves and fans.”

“Mahrez has to stay to be a great front three alongside Haaland and Foden.”
