Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club have identify Leeds star Kalvin Phillips as their TOP candidate to replace captain Fernandinho this summer.
Pep Guardiola is on the lookout for midfield replacements with Fernandinho set to leave Manchester City this summer when his contract expires
City have identified a central midfielder as one of the positions they must address this summer and have already ruled out a move for West Ham’s £100m-rated Declan Rice.
The Cityzens have now emerged as contenders to sign Kalvin Phillips in the summer. The 26-year-old featured in Leeds’ 2-1 win over Brentford on Sunday, securing their top-flight status for another season.
However, Jesse Marsch’s side could be under pressure to keep their star midfielder, with Pep Guardiola’s side showing an interest in Kalvin Phillips.
According to Jack Gaughan writing for the Daily Mail, the Leeds star midfielder is top of Manchester City’s list of replacements for departing captain Fernandinho.
The €50m-rated England international has been identified as possessing the perfect profile for the squad and Man City are expected to pursue him in the coming weeks.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.
