Plenty of Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays an update by Italian Journalist Fabrizio Romano on the future of Raheem Sterling at the Etihad.
Despite not always being a regular this season in Guardiola’s XI, Sterling’s excellent display recently shows just how ruthless the England man can be on his day.
Sterling, who had been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona, has less than 15 months remaining on his £300,000 per week contract, and there has been little progress in negotiating fresh terms.
According to Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano via podcast here we go, Man City are discussing a new contract with Raheem Sterling and people close to the player.
Sterling has repeatedly stepped up when it matters for Man City on numerous occasions, regardless of the competition. He is rewarding Guardiola’s faith on a weekly basis, so it’s hard to see him leaving this summer.
The 27-year-old has hit double figures for goals in the Premier League for a fifth consecutive campaign at City and is averaging a goal or assist every 118 minutes, so things couldn’t be going better.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“Every season I go through the same cycle with Raheem. At some point in every season I want him sold. Then he pops up with some brilliant form and I’m glad he’s extending. If he is”

“Its always like this. He will play good in some matches before Champions League knock out matches and then Pep will play him in UCL knock out matches. And then the result will be same year after year. Its better to sell him..”

“He can be frustrating but frankly his numbers are so difficult to replace. Great news”
