Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola’s side are ready to step up their interest in the potential £100million transfer of West Ham star Declan Rice.

The 23-year-old is regarded among the best midfielders in the country, with his performances for both West Ham and England having been consistently superb for some time now.

The Midfield star could spark a bidding war as he is reportedly a target of Manchester United and Chelsea this summer, with West Ham facing a battle to hang onto the £100million-rated midfielder.

According to Daily Mail, Manchester City will join the summer battle for West Ham’s Declan Rice, with Pep Guardiola and Co sending an early riposte to Erik ten Hag following his arrival at Old Trafford.

Rice looks ideal to replace Fernandinho at the Etihad Stadium, and the report suggests they could have the edge over Man Utd due to their strong financial position, aided by recent sales.

The report states that though a deal for Erling Haaland has already been agreed, Man City
officials have made it clear they can go after Rice as well.

The Mail suggest that City will have the edge over their local rivals due to being more likely to be able to offer Rice trophies.

It’s stated that Man City have already requested to be kept informed of Rice’s future plans, and have made it clear they are a viable destination.

In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

“There’s no need going for Rice, he’s too expensive and probably won’t sit on the bench, rather City should go for Bissouma, dude is an incredible DM and won’t necessarily cause a problem for sitting on the bench, no offense to him..”

“Would love Rice at City, but can’t see it. We won’t be paying £100m+ when we have Rodri. Think City go more shrewd to replace Fernandinho.”

“Get in. Lad is good, got brain for footy and an unbelievable fighting spirit. He will be a great addition, considering Ferna is leaving at the end of the summer. Just make sure the price isn’t Grealish-like.”
