Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims Pep Guardiola is in talks over a new deal that will keep him at the Etihad until 2025.
The Spaniard is contracted at the Etihad Stadium until 2023 and could extend that, but expects to work elsewhere at some point in the future.
Since his appointment in 2016, Guardiola has extended his stay with the reigning Premier League Champions on two occasions, firstly in 2018 and again in 2020.
Guardiola is just a Champions League triumph away from accomplishing everything he can at City. According to The Sun, City sources have confirmed Guardiola has verbally agreed to add a further two years to his contract.
The proposed contract is also believed to have an additional year on top of this as an option. Should Guardiola accept this option, it would bring his reign at the Etihad to a decade.
This news comes after Liverpool announced Jurgen Klopp had also signed a two-year extension deal that will keep Klopp him at the club until 2026.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“As happy as I would be with this, I seriously doubt it due to the timing:
– Business end of season & Pep would be unhappy if anyone is thinking abt anything other than remaining 6 games
– If Pep agreed in Dec/Jan, City would announce it to help in transfer pursuits esp Haaland.”

“If he extends until then he obviously extends again after that for a year minimum to complete the decade.
Just imagine, a decade of Guardiola. Heavenly .”
