Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays an update on the club’s interest in West Ham star Declan Rice.
The 23-year-old is regarded among the best midfielders in the country, with his performances for both West Ham and England having been consistently superb for some time now.
The Midfield star could spark a bidding war as he is reportedly a target of Manchester United and Chelsea this summer, with West Ham facing a battle to hang onto the £100million-rated midfielder.
According to Matt Law via The Telegraph, Manchester City are deliberating whether or not to make a move for Declan Rice for getting a deal done for the midfielder might be a bit more complicated.
The England international could cost as much as £150million, according to the report, and City don’t want to be dragged into another Harry Kane-like saga as they were when they ultimately failed to sign Tottenham’s star player last summer.
If City could somehow get both Haaland and Rice in the same summer they’d be in a very good position to dominate for years to come.
Rice has shown himself to be a world class talent and fantastic all-rounder in midfield, so he could have a tremendous impact as a long-term Fernandinho replacement at the Etihad Stadium.
In reaction to the report shared on Twitter by City Xtra, many Man City fans have have been expressing their thoughts and opinions.

Let’s get someone cheaper instead.”

“He’s too closely matched to Rodri there’s no point.”

“Not worth £100m. Other defensive midfielders are as good or better for only half the outlay.”

“He’s talented but it would limit us as he’s too good and expensive to sit on the bench and compete with Rodri. Playing two DMS like that would also not be a good idea, we need the creativity more.”

“As much as i’d love to see Declan Rice in a City shirt, he’d be wasted here, would be good to have someone to rotate Rodri with, but just feel he’d be better suited elsewhere when we already have a pretty strong midfield.”

“This doesnt even make sense…there are other options like kamara, Tchoumeni even Enzo Fernandes and Nunes, i would rather get for way cheaper.”

“This makes absolutely 0 sense, we have Rodri who is the better player but we want to spend more money on an English hype boy when you can look elsewhere & find better for cheaper.”
