Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report that claims the club want to have Yan Couto back in the squad in the summer.
The Citizens signed Yan Couto in a €6m deal from Coritiba in the summer of 2020. He was first loaned out to Girona and then to Braga.
Pep Guardiola’s side are now keen on getting the 19-year-old, who is under contract at the Etihad Stadium until 2025, more first team football.
According to Newspaper Record as relayed by Sport Witness, Manchester City want to have Yan Couto back in the squad in the summer and then evaluate if he should be kept at the club.
The report claims the Portuguese side even tried to include a clause in the loan deal, but was turned down as Man City have ‘great trust’ in the player.
Couto has been backed for a huge future and has already shown potential as a quick and attack-minded right back.
The report was shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“When he comes for preseason this time, I hope he just keeps it simple and not overdo it. I’d also like to see Issa Kabore get a run in preseason.”

“I’m struggling to see who will be our next first choice RB. We will miss Walkers pace so much when he slows down and retires, massively underrated how good he’s been for us and allows us to attack so much with his covering. Not seen loads of Couto or Kabore, Porro leaving.”

“Personally don’t think he’s ready yet, great going forward but mid defensively.”

“Kabore, Couto and Porro throw in Egan-Riley for good measure I didn’t realise the actual depth we have at right back.”

“We should keep him, with him we would have back ups for everyone in our defense.”
