Manchester City legend Sergio Aguero has opened the door on a potential return to professional football less than six months after being forced into retirement.
The City Legend confirmed his premature retirement in late 2021, after complications and concerns over the fitness of his heart while playing for La Liga giants FC Barcelona.
The former Argentina international has opened the door for a potential return to professional football in a new interview this week.
“Yesterday, it crossed my mind that I could play again. Inter Miami called me but I refused. In two years? Let’s see,” Aguero told TYC Sports this week.
“The doctors told me that I have to spend five or six months without activity, but I already want to train again!”
These Aguero’s comments were shared on Twitter by City Xtra and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters.

“Fair enough and makes sense that he’d have to get himself into shape, mentally and physically before he can play again. I think MLS would be perfect for him when that time comes. the tempo would be easy on his body.”
