Manchester City fans have been reacting to a post on Twitter which relays a report to yet another update on the club’s pursuit of Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Braut Haaland ahead of the summer transfer window.

Haaland is expected to leave Signal Iduna Park during the summer transfer window, when a £62.8million release clause written into his contract will become active.

The Citizens are believed to be leading the race for the 21-year-old’s signature, while La Liga giants Barcelona and Real Madrid are also keeping tabs on his situation.

Various reports claim the reigning Premier League champions are the firm favourites to sign the imperious Norwegian who has contributed a sensational 23 goals and six assists in 23 appearances in all competitions.

According to Mark Douglas of iNews on Thursday evening, Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland is in favour of joining Manchester City this summer, and will favour career progression over the most attractive financial offer.

Douglas revealed that Man City have prepared the framework of a contract which will make Erling Haaland one of the top earners in the premier league and have provided a clear career plan for the striker.

As per the same report, which has further indicated that Manchester City have clear plan for the Norway international, Haaland’s camp are carrying out ‘extensive due diligence’ on the striker’s next step ahead of what is undoubtedly a huge impending decision for the Borussia Dortmund star’s career.

Pep Guardiola’s side will hope to clinch a deal for Erling Haaland before the end of the season, as they look to avoid a repeat of last summer’s unsuccessful pursuit of Harry Kane.
