Ruben Dias has been ruled out for four to six weeks with a hamstring injury, confirms Pep Guardiola.
Dias was substituted at half-time of Tuesday night’s 2-0 FA Cup victory at Peterborough United with what Pep Guardiola described as a leg injury.
Although Guardiola rotates his team heavily, Dias has started all but three of Manchester City‘s Premier League games this term and his absence against Manchester United would be a blow to the champions.
After assessment of the problems, City’s medical staff confirmed to Pep Guardiola as early as Friday lunchtime that he would be unable to face United on Sunday.
Even more concerning, the Manchester City manager said Dias will be out for around four to six weeks due to a hamstring problem.
“Muscular. Hamstring. Four to six weeks. It happens. In other seasons our best players have been out for months. I’d love him (Ruben Dias) but he’s not there, I will not cry. It is what it is,” Guardiola said.
After City Xtra shared this update on Twitter, plenty of their supporters reacted to the news on the social media platform.
